SHELLHARBOUR produced a strong fightback, but Cabramatta did enough to hold on for a 32-28 win in Saturday's Jim Beam Cup trial at Ron Costello Oval.
The Marlins trailed 28-8 at half-time before out-scoring Cabramatta four tries to one in the second half.Centre Keiran Stewart crossed twice for Shellharbour and was his side's standout player."They got us on the fringes of the rucks and were offloading well in the first half, but the boys fought back well in the second half," said Marlins rugby league manager Mick Weir."We hung on to the ball and used the wind well, and with another 10 minutes we probably would've got them."Meantime, the Shellharbour Sharks beat Cabramatta eight tries to four in the earlier trial.
